Knicks Finally Get Their Ring: New York Celebrates Historic NBA Championship
The wait is finally over for New York Knicks fans.
After 53 years without an NBA title, the Knicks are NBA Champions, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in the 2026 NBA Finals. Led by Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, New York completed an unforgettable playoff run and brought the Larry O'Brien Trophy back to Madison Square Garden for the first time since 1973.
The championship sparked massive celebrations across New York City, with millions of fans flooding the streets in orange and blue. A ticker-tape parade through the famous Canyon of Heroes was held to honour the team, marking one of the biggest sporting celebrations in the city's history.
Now the focus turns to the championship rings. While the players and coaching staff will officially receive rings, there has already been debate among fans about whether legendary Knicks superfan Spike Lee deserves one too after decades of unwavering support.
For Knicks fans, however, the message is simple: after more than five decades of heartbreak, New York finally has its ring.
Champions at last.
